Day 1 - Shoot 1 - 20/12/2010:

Today was our first shoot of our music video and we were ready to go to canary wharf, jubilee park. However before we went i had a problem. Our cameraman could not make it due to family problems. So we were worried. Then i got one of my other mates who volunteered to do it and we were really grateful.

As we reached to canry wharf and prepared all the equpiment to start recording. The security guards came and stopped us asking questions about what we were filming. We said were filming a music video for our A2 media project. However they wanted more evidence. So we showed the camera which had our colleges name on it. Then the security allowed us to continue filming. However we got pulled over by the security guards another seven times. One rude security guard came over suggesting we stole the camera from the school but we had our college pass on us for proof. This shows how youths are being judged as being theifs especiall if your in a rich place with expensive equipment.

Day 2 - Shoot 2 - 24/12/2010:

Today was our second day to shoot. Luckily our main cameraman ws able to make it. Today we set out to go to towerbridge and record their. We had trouble finding our way their but we made it. It was really cold and some locations had ice left from the snow which made us really upset as we had to move around alot. In addition we had to reshoot so many times so people kept on walking pass through the camera and blocking us out from the actual scene!

We shot our scenes and the only two diffculties we had was the weather and the lighting. Some areas we went their had very poor lighting which we couldnt shoot. We did not have any lighting equipment so we tried to use the flash which was on the pone. That did not work as well so we moved about and we found a spot with very good lightng. To make sure we frames ourselves in the shot making sure if we can see our lips movement as well.

In conclusion everything went well except for few problems as i mentioned. Costume wise we did not have a problem as we had a side bag with different outfits. I chose these particular clothes to show that youths do not always dress as thugs, there are many youths out their that dress casual and smart and we wanted to represent that.

Day 3 - Shoot 3 - 28/12/2010:

Tonight we went down Limehouse ready to shoot again. However we had to travel from poplar to Stepney as we had to pick up the camera and the lighting equipment. Once we got the equipment we went to our location and we were ready to record. We had to configure the camera to record with its built in memory as it did not have a memory card. In addition the battery for both camera and lighting were almost gone and it really got us upset. We couldn't even record for 5 minutes. So we had to pack up and put the camera and lighting equipment on charge and we decided to record tomorrow.

Day 4 - Shoot 4 - 29/12/2010:

The light was fully charged so was the camera and finally we were ready to go out and record again. Everything went well as we went to our location, the lighting was good. We done our various shots and took our photo shoot. Variation of shots were important such as close p shot, medium shot, long shot, high angle shot, low angle shot. Bearing in mind, the lack of equipment we were provided could not accomplish some shots we wanted to do. Apart from the weather which was cold, everything went well.

Day 5 - EDITING! 30/12/2010:

I sat down in my own time for 4 hours straight and I have finally edited and finished the video. Taking the audience feedbacks into consideration, I adjusted a few touches and added extra shots.  I added some clips which i recorded during the summer of time lapse. I started recording early because i knew we would do the music video soon so i wanted to prepare early. Furthermore we went out to record my teachers son of him crying. This was something which was brought up by the audience feedback but they did not specifically say to record a child crying. They told us to record some kind of shots were it symbolises life. However following Andrew goodwins theory were the visuals links with the lyrics, i followed this and it matched perfectly.

Day 6 - ZAK DAY! 1/1/2011:

Because my audience feedback was that i needed to include more cutaways etc, and i had researched a lot into the idea of including some child images- a child crying/ being told off, I made arrangements to film Zak.  At first i thought this would be really hard just to tell a child to cry randomly for no reason. However Zak was a brave talented child. I was surprised how easily he took to acting, he was a natural born actor. He started to cry and it was very realistic, but within seconds he was laughing and joking!. Hes a great child. As a result everything went well. I would have liked to re-film so bits and have a steadier zoom or change the ligting but with a child you get one take and thats it! After that he just wanted to play.
In addition we filmed some shots of him sleeping, to show the peaceful side of a young child.
